Read MoreThis year's overall start will be hosted by Ogden which has been a host city for the Tour the past four years. Teams, coaches, media and event staff will spend several days in Ogden prior to the start preparing for America’s Toughest Stage Race. Spectators will not only enjoy a full day of festivities for Stage 1 of the race on Tuesday, August 7, but the top cyclists in the world will return to Ogden for the start of Stage 3 on Thursday.
Garnering world-wide attention for its high-adventure recreation year round, Ogden sits in the northern part of the state nestled between the Great Salt Lake and the Wasatch Front mountain range. Don’t come to Ogden expecting a typical mountain town. This is the place that Al Capone said was too wild for his taste in the 1920s. And while Ogden has replaced bootlegging and gambling with skiing, climbing, kayaking and mountain biking, its soul will always be a bit rowdy.
Outside magazine ranks Ogden as one of the best towns in America. Forbes ranks it in the top 25 places for business and careers. The rest of the country seems to have discovered Ogden. Have you?
